Jim has 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren (3 from each daughter). He retired in 2001 after 37 years performing research and development on underwater acoustics and advanced computer technologies. He received a B.S. in Engineering Mathematics from the U of A. He and Gayle were married in 1982 and both have since enjoyed extensive travel to faraway places. They just returned from a trip to Egypt and Jordan. Jim is still a winemaker and has produced several award-winning wines.
