Fran Tegarden Johnson

After retiring for the third time (from three careers) in 2007, it took me almost a full year to understand that I didn’t have to clean the house, do laundry or cram everything in on the weekends.  It was OK to do those things during the week, even play golf during the week.

I believe one of my most memorable accomplishments was serving on the Board for the National Association of Educational Office Professionals for 15 years and serving as its national president in 1992-93.  I have made hundreds of friends through that contact with these very dedicated and wonderful people.

I have been blessed for the past 38 years with having a wonderful and loving husband, Harry Johnson.  He has kept me down to earth when things weren’t going well and he keeps reminding me how fortunate we are that we have a wonderful family, good friends, and reasonably good health.  Our three granddaughters are the joys of our lives and fortunately two of them, along with their husbands, are now living in Sahuarita, just south of Tucson.  We now have an adorable great grandson, Jake, and another one on the way.  What joy!

Life is good and as Harry reminds me, “every day is a holiday!”

I’m enjoying helping with our 50th Class Reunion coming up on October 15-17, 2010, and look forward to seeing everyone there.
